Is You The One?

Is you the One? I whisper in my Jane Pittman voice.

You ain’t in jail . . .right now

You ain’t in strung out. . . .at the moment

You work . . . periodically

You take care of your children . . . all 5, 6, 7, 8 maybe 9 of them

And have civil relationships with your babies’s mama . . . .all 5. 6.7. 8, maybe 9 of them

You haven’t laid a hand on a woman . . . . lately

The trail of tears and lineage of broken hearts was in the past . . . ok, not so distant past

Still, I wonder, is you the one?

You could be the one

I just need to be patient that the rough edges will be smoothed out . . . . eventually

I just need to believe that all of the issues you have will be worked out . . . someday, one day

Lord, let him, fix him, make him be the one

You see I am just following God’s word which says that man should not be alone

Man in the generic sense includes me

He shouldn’t be alone because he is “one of God’s children”

Therefore, this relationship, pursuing this relationship is God’s work

I’m just fulfilling Your. . . . my mission

Didn’t You call me Lord . . . to him?

Is he the one?
